Knit One…..

A/W 2011-2012  Knitwear
As much as we love summer we know the deal with British weather, if you don’t then consider yourself very lucky. So with winter inevitably just around the corner we will bring you the latest on fashions in the A/W. We are exploring soon to be – but hopefully not too soon trend, knitwear. A/W 2011-12 is a season of re-invention, rejuvenation an exploration.
Value the concept of time moving forward with new ideas, a need to play, escape, explore and shine. It is time to leave the past behind. This makes it a season of contrasts and alternatives, a time to lead not follow Knitwear has been overlooked by high fashion for a long time, but in recent years there have been encouraging signs of its resurgence – with designers such as Mark Fast, Cooperative Designs and Alice Palmer leading the way. This season is predominantly in oatmeal, beige, shades of warm tones of russet orange, strong reds, gold’s and bronzes contrasted by vibrant teal and pinks, all merged together to give a moody, painterly dimension.
Mysteriously deep and intense shades of inky blues, greys and blacks through to futuristic purples from dark to light. Shimmering yet burnished highlights of silver and gold offer decorative relief. It becomes clear that there are vast differences in the way designers make use of knitting techniques. Despite its many changes in status, knitwear has never really disappeared. Its dynamism along with its renewed prominence made want to unravel knitwear’s importance in fashion.

Tufted, looped and cloudy float pattern knits with bulking hooking-up techniques create softness and push surface effects to the max. For forthcoming season and strong cold winters, the development of innovative knits and yarns is bolt-on extensions, chunky and dense.

The forecast convinces with complex knot structures and conceptualize the contemporary trend of oversized and exaggerated yarn decoration. Twisted and coiled in construction with engineered braiding, the wool mélange yarns and hand-crafted apparel key pieces soften the rustic appeal.
Here’s our very own hot knitwear fashion.
