Warm up This Winter

The Warm Layered Look for A/W 2011/12
Warming trend for both men and women shows the designers delight in heavy layering, thick coats and key outerwear piece. This year winter fashion trends are both sleek and edgy while also being extremely fun and cosy. Therefore, there is something on the runway for everyone whether your style is sophisticated, stunning, or relaxed.

The A/W fashion trend is warm colours, russets, purples and gold, from jumpers to dresses. A/W fashion 2011 will appeal to lovers of fur inserts, fur collars, fur trim and even a sleeveless dress. Floor-grazing overcoats were big news at Rodarte, Hermes, Michael Kors. For something a little more laid back, blanket coats and cosy knitted numbers make great off-duty options.
Get your inspiration at Chanel, Etro, Derek Lam and Vanessa Bruno for knitted ponchos, capes and cardi-coats, which make ideal, layering devices. Blanket styles came in a patchwork of colours at Chloe, with fringed edges at MaxMara or with leather-trimmed lapels at Jean Paul Gaultier Faux fur is back by the handful, only this time around instead of being tacky and unrefined; it is now ethically the right choice and very authentic looking.
This winter you can choose anything and any accessory with faux fur and you will be in style from jackets to hats to muffs to vests, and even crazy colours, bold patterns, and pelts are back in style. Texture is big this year as well, with velvet, tweed, knits, and wool hitting the winter 2011 runways in a big way. Choose dresses, winter coats, and large knit sweaters in textured fabrics this winter and you will be happy and fashionable well into spring. Finally, black leather is still one of the number one winter trends and appears to be holding strong as one of the top sellers for this winter.

The Perfect Makeup Look 2011/12

To Bring Out the Best Natural Beauty
Eye Liner:
Lines, from thin winged eye lines to weird thick lines covering almost all the lid, fashion shows were stuffed with gorgeous beauty looks created just with eyeliner. A/W 2011-2012 fashion shows. From warm autumnal orange eye shadow shade to acid orange mixed with a bit pink, the designers made orange eye makeup the newest A/W 2011-2012 make up trend. For a natural beauty look that gives a warm glow and doesn’t wash you out, opt for soft peachy-nude tones on both eyes and lips. For the glowing natural beauty, the opportunities are endless.
Swinging ’60s Beauty Look:

For a beauty look that absolutely won’t go unnoticed – a winged liner in a bright spring colour is the perfect way to add a pop-art mod touch to any outfit. Team with equally bold pink lips and some back-combed hair for ultimate 1960s sex kitten appeal use a vibrant yellow liquid liner. You can also experiment with other bold colours – like violet, emerald green, turquoise or tangerine. The key is to line the colour next to black cat eye liner to define the eye and keep it classic with a twist. A blend of aqua and green washes over the lids like cool ocean waves and  a dot of gold pigment at the inner eye completes the look.
Blusher:

This season step back from the blusher because this look is all about using bronzers to contour the face. Keep everything else simple and understated – lips are natural and eyes are accentuated with just a hint of brown liner. Nude makeup trend steps into the forthcoming Autumnal/Winter 2011-2012 season. And no wonder actually, as nude is never out. Fast, easy, natural and fresh is what never better reflects the concept of this uber trendy and fab A/W 2011-2012 makeup trend. It may have been inspired by the riche glamour of the 1970s.
Vampy Lips:
The A/W 2011-2012 season is all about contradiction. On the one hand there is nude or even almost no makeup, while on the other vampy lips of different shades. Everything from our favourite orange and red lipstick shades to burgundy and dark purple ones. But bold colours are certainly the talk of the town. It’s almost impossible to miss the splashes of high-voltage colours on the streets, in runway collections basically everywhere; the beauty shelves are also getting their share of appreciation for embracing the colour trend. From the entire range, the most infallible make-up item for spring 2011 is a bright lipstick. The tinted lip is an instant mood uplifter, for yourself and onlookers. The awash of vivid colors is about to raid your lips and it’s time to celebrate the cheer.

Sport Couture

Sportswear has always been the about and this year is no exception. Simple, loose-fitting separates were layered to achieve a laidback look.
Rag & Bone’s particular way with street wear struck the perfect chord on looks that show the designers’ talent for layering without overwhelming the look. The posh one explored her sporty side with a streamlined take on sportif dressing at Victoria Beckham. For spring, the sportswear found its way to the rowing club and gave varsity crew looks the high fashion treatment.
For designers Nicole and Michael Colovos first runway presentation for Helmut Lang, the brand’s signature urbane, often edgy sportswear approach got a decided locker room sensibility. BCBG added femininity into the athletic-chic aesthetic on draped dresses with bright hues tempered by neutral tones. The sleek lines of a wetsuit inspired a sporty, monochromatic dress at Vera Wang.
Even if you're not really athletic, the sportswear trend that emerged from the spring 2012 New York Fashion Week runways has you covered. And no, we're not talking the battered sneakers or faded college sorority T-shirts you still wear to the gym. We're talking luxe sportswear, light-as-air fabrics, sleek silhouettes, and lively bursts of colour.
We're talking Alexander Wang, Marc by Marc Jacobs, and Ruffian, who all displayed chic, sporty ensembles that you'd never actually wear to play sports, but would wear to convey your active, on-the-go lifestyle. Alexander Wang's take, athletic-gone-couture was embodied by wunderkind Spring look at motocross for the chic set, streamlined jackets and leggings, sexy mesh panels, leather bandannas.
Marc by Marc Jacobs delivers for the  sportswear girl, a preppy sweatshirt got the luxury treatment when paired with a supple, draped leather skirt in a lesson in contrasts whose girls play tennis with a boxy sweater, orange skirt, and multicolored high- Unfussy outfits cast a whole new light on the profession. Paired with silky trousers and strappy electric blue sandals, a preppy, jersey-inspired tank top seems like a breath of fresh air for spring.
